Malachy Doyle

Malachy Doyle Portrait

Malachy Doyle grew up in Northern Ireland but after moving to Wales he turned to writing for children. From pop-up books for toddlers to gritty teenage novels, his work encompasses many age groups and is available in sixteen different languages.

Over the years he has been shortlisted for many prestigious book awards. Lake of Shadows, published by Pont Books was shortlisted for the Tir na n-Og Award in 2003. He lives in Aberdyfi and enjoys visiting schools and libraries.

Having lived in Wales for many years, Malachy has taken the momentous decision to return to his native Ireland, a decision which inspired the writing of 'Swap', the story of two boys, one Welsh, one Irish, who swap places for a bet.
