Graham Howells
Born in Belgium, where his dad was in the army, Graham Howells lived in lots of different places abroad before settling in Pembrokeshire at the age of 10. He liked art and English at school. His liking for fantasy - he enjoyed fairy tales as a younger reader and The Lord of the Rings when he was older - can be seen in Graham's illustrations and in his stories too. Mr Barafundle - hero of Mr Barafundle and the Rockdragon - started life in Graham's sketchbook when he was a student, and only appeared in book form in 2005.
